KSrelief and UNDP Partner to Empower Yemeni Women through Renewable Energy

NEW YORK, USA: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) aimed at empowering Yemeni women through renewable energy initiatives. As part of this program "Empowering Yemeni Women: Catalyzing Renewable Energy," KSrelief will contribute $2.5 million, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering sustainable development and gender equality in Yemen.
This initiative will focus on promoting solutions for spreading the application and use of solar energy and enhancing engagement of women in small solar businesses, promoting the spread of renewable energy applications and covering needs for basic household activities and lighting, and engaging vulnerable women in business creation addressing energy use needs of vulnerable women in communities and energy markets.
"We believe that empowering women in Yemen is key to achieving long-term stability and prosperity," said HE Dr Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Royal Court Advisor and Supervisor General of KSRelief. "Through this partnership with UNDP, we are not only addressing critical energy needs but also helping to build a foundation for economic resilience in the region."
This collaboration with UNDP is part of KSrelief's broader strategy to support innovative solutions that drive sustainable development and empower vulnerable populations.
