Dr. Al Rabeeah: According to the United Nations Financial Tracking Service (FTS), in 2021, KSA was the third largest global humanitarian aid provider, and was top donor to Yemen

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA: According to a statement released today by Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia maintained its global ranking in 2021 as the world’s third largest provider of humanitarian aid, and as the top aid donor to Yemen. Dr. Al Rabeeah made this announcement following the release of the 2021 report on the United Nations Financial Tracking Service (FTS).

The UNFTS report revealed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked third in the world as a global humanitarian donor; the United States and Germany were ranked first and second, respectively. The support provided by the Kingdom in 2021 amount to USD 1,239,894,591. The Kingdom also ranked first in the world in humanitarian support to Yemen, with a total aid amounting to USD 934,214,049.

According to directives from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH the Crown Prince, the Supervisor General continued, KSrelief regularly provides documentation to relevant international bodies such as the UNFTS. Information provided by this internationally-recognized tracking platform underscores the significance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s global humanitarian impact, he said, which is made possible by the support and follow up of Saudi Arabia’s wise leadership. 

Dr. Al Rabeeah emphasized that the UNFTS report affirms that Saudi Arabia continues to be one of the world’s largest humanitarian donors. He added that since its founding, the Kingdom has generously provided aid to alleviate the suffering of people in need around the world, and that it would continue to do so. 

Dr. Al Rabeeah concluded his remarks by extended his deep thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince for their unlimited support and keen interest in continuing the Kingdom’s vital humanitarian work. He added his sincere hope that the people of Saudi Arabia would continue to live in peace, security and prosperity, and that the country would continue on its positive path of goodness and giving.
