KHARTOUM,
SUDAN: A team from King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) recently
delivered medical assistance to hospitals and health centers in Khartoum to
meet the needs of the country’s flood-affected population. The delivery
ceremony was attended by Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Sudan, Ali bin Hassan
Jafar, and officials from the Alegtinam Organization for Human Development,
KSrelief’s local partner.
Ambassador
Jafar stated that the relief assistance being provided by the center would alleviate
the suffering of many of those affected by floods and heavy rains. The aid, he
added, exemplifies the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing support to Sudan in
all areas – particularly in the humanitarian field.
Deputy head
of KSrelief’s Urgent Aid Department, Nasser Al Subaie, explained that five tons
of medical aid arrived via airlift to help flood victims; the aid will be
distributed to more than five hospitals and nine health centers in affected
areas to enable hospitals and health centers to provide comprehensive health
services to all area residents.
Babiker
Mohamed Ali, the Director General of the State Ministry of Health in Khartoum
State, expressed his thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for providing such
timely assistance to support hospitals and health centers in Khartoum.
