KSrelief-supported Ma’rib Artificial Limbs Center Continues to Provide Patient Services

MA’RIB, YEMEN: The Ma’rib Center for Artificial Limbs and Rehabilitation continues to provide specialized medical services to amputees and other patients, thanks to the generous support of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief).

During the month of December 2021, 1,530 services were provided to a total of 595 patients, as follows: 1,350 prosthetics and orthotics services, limb-measurement services, prosthetics training sessions, and device maintenance services. Physical therapy and mental health services were provided for 328 patients, 88% of whom were male and 12% female. A total of 84% of the patients were IDPs, while 16% were local residents.

KSrelief has implemented more than 280 medical sector projects in Yemen since the center opened in 2015. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is committed to strengthening health sectors worldwide through KSrelief, which works with international humanitarian partners to alleviate the suffering of millions of people in need globally.
