Many people in Yemen are at high risk of suffering from chronic hunger and malnutrition, Mr. Beasley stated, adding that the Kingdom’s aid would undoubtedly help many in the country to avoid famine. KSrelief’s support will help WFP to feed at least 2,200,000 people.

Mr. Beasley made his remarks following the signing of a Joint Cooperation Agreement between KSrelief and WFP to improve food security for the most affected families in several parts of Yemen. The agreement will help prevent famine and malnutrition in 2,333,333 individuals at a cost of USD 40,000,000.

“We are grateful,” Mr. Beasley said, “for the partnership (with KSrelief), and we have got a lot of work to do. This is definitely a tremendous boost to what we need. We look forward for the partnership to go forward and to working with you.”

“As you know,” he added, “COVID really brought a lot of tragedies and economic deterioration all over the world. This support will really make a difference, because COVID has dynamically impacted an already vulnerable population, and we know it has exacerbated hunger all over the world.
