KSrelief-supported Nutrition Project for Women and Children in Yemen Provided Services to Thousands of Beneficiaries in One Week

ADEN, YEMEN: With the support of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), a project to support women’s and children’s nutrition (for children under the age of five, and pregnant and lactating mothers) provided services to 28,021 beneficiaries across Yemen between 26 January and 1 February 2022.
During this period, medical teams reviewed 5,175 pediatric cases, and treatment was provided for 296 children with severe acute malnutrition and for 539 children with moderate malnutrition. Medical services were also provided to prevent another 877 children from becoming malnourished.
The cases of 2,990 pregnant and lactating mothers were reviewed, and treatment was provided to 549 women. Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) services were provided for 2,959 patients. Health awareness services were provided for 12,713 participants, and 1,923 women received consultation services.
This
project is being carried out across 7 Yemeni governorates: Aden, Lahij, Taiz,
Al Hudaydah, Hadramawt, Hajjah and Ma’rib.
