KSrelief’s Supported Cholera Response Project in Yemen Serves 5,909 Individuals in One Week
Author: KSrelief
The Urgent Cholera Response Project in Yemen, supported by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), provided medical services to 5,909 individuals from March 25 to 31, 2026. The services included comprehensive cholera screenings at Aden, Seiyun, and Al-Rayan airports, as well as the Al-Wade'ah, Al-Hafyah, and Razih border crossings, with only one suspected case recorded. The project targets the areas most affected by the epidemic to reduce infection rates and curb the spread of cholera. Preventive measures include establishing specialized medical teams to screen and monitor travelers at air and land ports.
Additionally, the project supports health facilities with medical supplies specifically for cholera treatment, such as intravenous (IV) and oral rehydration salts (ORS), antibiotics, protective equipment, and sterilization materials. It also focuses on expanding bed capacity at cholera treatment centers to accommodate increasing cases.
These efforts are an extension of the humanitarian and relief role undertaken by the Kingdom, represented by the Centre, to support the Yemeni health sector and limit the spread of epidemics and infectious diseases, ensuring the health and safety of the brotherly Yemeni people.
