Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg Visits KSrelief Headquarters in Riyadh

Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg and member of the Board of Directors of the World Scout Foundation’s Endowment Fund, Prince Guillaume Jean Joseph Marie, visited the headquarters of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) in Riyadh, accompanied by his delegation. He was received by Dr. Aqeel Al-Ghamdi, Assistant Supervisor General for Planning and Development at KSrelief.

Prince Guillaume toured the permanent exhibition in the Centre’s lobby, which included an interactive map showing the countries benefiting from the Centre’s projects, audiovisual displays of impactful humanitarian stories, a screen presenting the Centre’s volunteer programs, and a section for writing humanitarian messages. The exhibition also featured virtual reality technology, allowing visitors to experience the daily lives of refugees and displaced persons.

Following the tour, Prince Guillaume visited the offices of the Centre’s partner organizations and international bodies, listening to explanations from representatives about their joint work with KSrelief. He then held a meeting with Dr. Aqeel Al-Ghamdi to discuss matters of mutual interest related to humanitarian and relief affairs.

A visual presentation was delivered on the Centre’s projects and programs, which have included 3,647 projects in 108 countries worldwide, with a total value exceeding eight billion USD, covering various vital sectors. The presentation highlighted specialized programs such as the Rehabilitation of Children Associated with Armed Conflict, the “MASAM” project for clearing landmines in Yemen, and the Prosthetics Installation Project. Additionally, there are 1,030 volunteer programs in education, training, and medical fields implemented in 55 countries, benefiting over 2,359,000 individuals, including more than 244,000 surgical operations. The presentation also featured the Saudi program for separating conjoined twins.

Prince Guillaume praised the Kingdom’s global reputation in humanitarian work through KSrelief and commended its vital role in supporting vulnerable populations and those affected by crises worldwide.
