The project will distribute 147,500 food baskets, each weighing 95 kilograms and containing essential food items sufficient to meet the needs of a family for one month. These will be distributed across the provinces of Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab, and Kashmir, targeting 1,032,500 individuals.
Ambassador Nawaf Al-Maliki explained that this project is being implemented in accordance with the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, as part of the Kingdom's continued support for Pakistan. He emphasized that it is one of the many projects being executed by KSrelief in Pakistan to assist the most vulnerable families in flood-affected areas across the country.
In his remarks, His Excellency Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain expressed his gratitude, on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan, to the leadership and government of Saudi Arabia for their continuous humanitarian support to the people of Pakistan. He highlighted that the launch of this project adds to the series of charitable humanitarian projects provided by KSrelief and came at a crucial time when many Pakistani families, particularly those in disaster-affected areas, are struggling with food insecurity.
Minister Hussain also acknowledged KSrelief's dedication and extensive experience in addressing the needs of target groups in a manner that is aligned with their requirements. Meanwhile, Abdullah Al-Buqami, Director of KSrelief’s Pakistan Office, explained that the center’s role extends beyond disaster response. KSrelief strives to alleviate food insecurity and improve nutritional outcomes in Pakistan. This initiative aims to make a tangible positive impact on the lives of those in need, helping to enhance resilience and stability in affected communities across all Pakistani regions. The project will be implemented in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and KSrelief’s partners in Pakistan.
This project is part of the broader humanitarian and relief efforts provided by the Kingdom, represented by KSrelief, to support friendly countries around the world.
