KSrelief-supported Nutrition Project for Women and Children in Yemen Provided Services for Thousands of Beneficiaries This Week

ADEN, YEMEN: With the support of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), a project to support women’s and children’s nutrition (for children under the age of five, and pregnant and lactating mothers) provided services to 31,278 beneficiaries between 30 December 2021 to 5 January 2022. The project is being carried out in 7 Yemeni governorates: Aden, Lahij, Taiz, Al Hudaydah, Hadramawt, Hajjah and Ma’rib.

Medical teams reviewed 6,476 pediatric cases, and treatment was provided for 259 children with severe acute malnutrition, and for 424 children with moderate malnutrition. Medical services were also provided to prevent another 1,032 children from becoming malnourished. 

The cases of 3,915 pregnant and lactating mothers were reviewed, and treatment was provided to 548 women. Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) services were provided for 2,437 patients. Health awareness services were provided for 14,215 participants, and 1,972 women received consultation services. 

KSrelief has implemented more than 640 impartial, multisectoral humanitarian initiatives across Yemen, alleviating the suffering of millions of people in need.
