The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) distributed 50 motorized fishing boats to fishermen affected by the cyclones and torrential rains that recently swept through the Huswain District of Al-Mahrah. This initiative is part of the Sustainable Agriculture and Agricultural and Fisheries Empowerment Project aimed at enhancing resilience in Yemen.

The Director-General of Huswain District, Yasser Abdullah Al-Asad, highly praised the humanitarian role undertaken by KSrelief in supporting the fisheries sector. He emphasized that this assistance will significantly contribute to enabling fishermen to resume their livelihoods and secure their essential needs after losing their boats due to the severe weather conditions experienced in the region.

It is worth noting that a total of 90 fishing boats with motors and 150 safety kits will be distributed, benefiting 150 fishermen across the governorates of Hadramout, Al-Mahrah, and Socotra. The project aims to improve the livelihoods of fishermen, open new income-generating opportunities, and ensure safer and more productive fishing expeditions.

This project falls within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts, through KSrelief, to implement best practices to support the fishing and marine wealth sector—as it is one of the most vital economic pillars—and to assist fishermen throughout Yemen.
