RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and
Relief Centre (KSrelief) signed a project today a civil society organization in
Yemen to sponsor orphans and empower their families economically in the
governorates of Aden, Lahij, Al Mahrah, Hadramawt, Al Jawf, Taiz, Al Hudaydah
and Ma'rib. The project total cost is SAR 5 million and will directly benefit
1,300 orphans.
The project was signed by KSrelief’s Assistant Supervisor
General of Operations and Programs, Eng. Ahmed Al Baiz, at the Centre's
headquarters in Riyadh.
The project aims to target orphaned children in Yemen by
empowering 440 economically disadvantaged families. This will be achieved by
creating sustainable employment opportunities to provide income, and by
providing livelihood, educational, and healthcare support. It will enable these
families to better cope with the economic consequences of losing a breadwinner
and will also enable orphans to access educational opportunities.
This comes as part of the humanitarian and relief projects
provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm,
KSrelief, to assist the Yemeni people and support the healthcare sector in
Yemen.
