In celebration of the International Day of Human Fraternity, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its global leadership in humanitarian and relief work, highlighting efforts that reflect the values of solidarity, compassion, and cooperation among nations.
To strengthen these principles, the Kingdom has implemented 8,749 humanitarian, development, and charitable projects in 175 countries, with a cumulative value exceeding $145 billion. These initiatives embody Saudi Arabia’s enduring commitment to serving humanity and preserving human dignity.
Established in 2015, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) serves as the Kingdom’s primary humanitarian arm. It has delivered 4,183 projects across 113 countries—including Palestine, Syria, Yemen, Sudan, and Somalia—valued at more than $8.3 billion.
According to the UN Financial Tracking Service (FTS), Saudi Arabia ranked second globally and first in the Arab world among donor countries in 2025. KSrelief has also earned international recognition, receiving the 2024 Family and Child-Friendly Institutions Award from the League of Arab States and the Global Humanitarian Achievement Award from the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations.
In addition, KSrelief obtained the ISO 8000-1:2022 certification for data quality on the Saudi Aid Platform—making it one of the first Saudi entities to achieve this international standard.
Among the Kingdom’s notable humanitarian programs is the Saudi Conjoined Twins Programme, which since 1990 has evaluated 155 cases from 28 countries and successfully separated 67 pairs of twins. The UN has officially designated November 24 as World Conjoined Twins Day in recognition of this Saudi initiative.
The International Day of Human Fraternity serves as a global reminder of unity, equality, and peaceful coexistence among all peoples.
