English Version - Annual Report 2017

The Executive Summary provides a general analysis of the assistance provided by the Centre from May 2015 to 31 December 2017. During this period, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre disbursed a total of SR 3,746,558,175 (US$ 999,082,177) as humanitarian aid and relief grants around the world. A total of 325 projects have been implemented in 40 countries, through 119 partners from United Nations (UN) organizations, international and regional organizations, and national non-governmental organizations, covering 12 humanitarian sectors and benefiting more than 108,348,343 people; the following sectors are included: health, food security, shelter, non-food items, water, environment, sanitation and multi-sector(including various types of relief assistance), early recovery, education, support and coordination of humanitarian operations, emergency logistics and communications, and nutrition and protection. As for countries that received assistance from the Centre in the period from May 2015to 31 December 2017, such aid covered 40 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and South America. Yemen received SR 3,197,660,029 (US$ 852,709,341), or 85.3% of the total, followed by Syria, which received SR 152,862,458 (US$ 40,763,322) at 4.1% of the total. Somalia received SR 50,237,104 (US$ 13,396,561) at 1.3%, followed by Tajikistan with SR 35,523,023 (US$ 9,472,806) at 0.95%. The rest of the aid had been distributed to 35 countries around the world.
