Renewed Hope

Details

With a voice that is heavily burdened by what she has been through, Manar, 27, tells us her story..

"My family moved to Zaatari before I did and my father was getting sick and wanted to see me, so I came here in 2013 with my daughter who was then two years old. My husband remained in Syria, and only ten days after arriving to the camp he asked me to come back, because he had missed us. He passed away before we could see him again. I was trying hard to overcome my loss. I began searching for jobs and one day, as I was walking out, it started raining heavily, so I entered the closest building to me, which was the Saudi Center for Training, where I waited till it stopped raining. It turned out that the center was in search of an Arts instructor, and I have a degree in Arts; I was so grateful for the wonderful coincidence. My favorite part of being here is seeing the girls everyday; their passion about learning inspires me.”
