Anhar: from suffering to joy

Details

Anhar Muzher is a five-year-old girl living in the Yemeni city of Seiyun. She suffers from nerve atrophy due to oxygen deprivation at birth which resulted in muscle weakness that made her unable to walk.

When Anhar was admitted to the Artificial Limbs and Rehabilitation Center in Seiyun, she arrived in a wheelchair, which was at that time her only way to move from one place to another. She was received by Mervat, a physiotherapist, who began a regimen of physical therapy sessions and exercises to strengthen her muscles and address the atrophy.

“My daughter has now started walking on her own, playing with her siblings and holding a pen in her hand”, her mother says, “I thank Mervat, the physiotherapist, for taking such good care of my daughter and improving her condition. I am beyond happy!”

Today, Anhar visits the center with her mother, walking in on her own. The center continues to provide her with comprehensive services, completely free of charges, thanks to the support of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief).
